Steven Deaves KC
Steven started his legal career in January of 1988, undertaking Articles of Clerkship in Rockhampton. He was admitted as a Solicitor in December 1993, staying in that branch of the profession until 2011. As a partner in a Regional mid-sized firm, Steven ran commercial litigation, building, estate and personal injuries matters working with some of the State’s most respected advocates.
Called to the Bar in July 2011, Steven has practiced in civil law with a particular emphasis on personal injuries, insurance, estates and commercial law. He has conducted trials, applications and appeals in the State’s Superior Courts from Cairns to Southport. Steven has been recognised in multiple categories of the Best Barrister awards published by Doyles Guide each year since 2017.
In December 2021 Steven was appointed as Queen’s Counsel (converting to King’s Counsel in 2022).
